The role

We’re recruiting a Head of Volunteering to be responsible for developing and implementing our volunteering strategy and managing all our volunteering activity.

In this senior role, you’ll collaborate across the charity. You’ll work closely with Associate directors, Heads of department, managers, and other key stakeholders in volunteer-involving teams across all directorates, to expand volunteering and deliver impactful volunteering programmes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who combines experience and passion for volunteering with a love of strategy, data, systems and processes, and who enjoys working both independently and across teams.

You’ll manage a dedicated team of volunteering professionals. We’re looking for an empathetic and experienced manager who is good at motivating others and supporting them to develop and grow.

About you

You’ll have experience of strategic planning, project management and policy development and implementation. You’ll also have a good understanding of best practice and the legal framework relating to volunteering.

With experience of leading and managing individuals, you’ll be proficient in developing people. Your excellent communication skills will be invaluable when representing the charity, both internally and externally, working closely with senior colleagues and stakeholders, as well as our supporters and beneficiaries.
