Breast Cancer Now

We’re looking for a Press & PR Manager to join our focused and ambitious Press, PR & Celebrity team to play a key role in cementing our place as the ‘go to’ organisation for breast cancer. Focusing on our Research & Health, the right person for the role will lead our bold and determined profile-building of our world-class research and health portfolio. You’ll create and collaborate on powerful stories and will have innovative ideas about how to get cut-through in the media to get our stories heard.

About you

You’ll be a great relationship builder, whether with colleagues from across the organisation, with journalists and external contacts or with advocates and ambassadors of Breast Cancer Now, all which will help you bring our work to life.  You’ll be confident and able to build relationships with influential senior level contacts in the research space and will harness these relationships to create content which inspires and drives action. You’ll work collaboratively, effectively and at pace to keep our research front and centre of our Press and PR opportunities.

You’ll be an impactful writer for a range of audiences and across different channels and will champion our bold, patient-focused and expert voice. You’ll have a detailed understanding and passion for research and health, along with a creative approach and instinctive sense of what makes a good ‘news’ story, and you will use this experience and expertise to put Breast Cancer Now at the heart of the external news agenda around breast cancer both through proactive and reactive work.

The successful candidate will be excited to be part of an ambitious, focused and supportive wider Fundraising, Communications and Engagement Directorate, which is newly formed with a remit to reach and engage more people than ever before in our work and to develop our fundraising to become a sustainable organisation for the future. You will play a key role as a manager within this Directorate. We have a learning and development culture and are currently working flexibly at home.

Please note that whilst Breast Cancer Now is following Government guidelines regarding working from home, this role is based in London and the expectation is that once restrictions are eased that the post holder will be based within this office for the majority of the time.
