Breast Cancer Now

At Breast Cancer Now, we are looking for an experienced Senior Press Officer to join our focused and ambitious Press, PR & Celebrity team to help us cement our place as the ‘go to’ organisation for breast cancer. Focusing on the Fundraising area of our Press and PR work, the right person for the role will be passionate and creative about raising the profile of our range of high-value fundraising events and corporate partnerships, which help the charity to continue to deliver world-class research and provide life-changing support for anyone affected by breast cancer. You’ll create and deliver powerful stories around our fundraising activity portfolio and will have innovative ideas about how to get cut-through in the media to tell them.

About you

You’ll be great at building trusted and influential relationships whether with internal colleagues, journalists, external partners or with advocates and ambassadors of Breast Cancer Now. All of this will help you bring our work to life, and to work at pace, through working collaboratively and effectively.

You will have significant experience in developing and delivering fundraising PR campaigns, either in-house or in an agency. An excellent all-round communicator with strong and engaging interpersonal skills you’ll work closely with corporate partners and their press teams, journalists, celebrities, influencers and case studies, to build support for Breast Cancer Now’s work. You’ll have experience of and will thrive in a fast-paced press office or news environment, as well as knowledge and interest in media across platforms.

The successful candidate will be excited to be part of an ambitious, focused and supportive wider Fundraising, Communications and Engagement Directorate, which is newly formed with a remit to reach and engage more people in our work than ever before, and to develop our fundraising to become a sustainable organisation for the future. We have a learning and development culture and are currently working flexibly at home.
